City of Graz
Graz is the second biggest city in Austria located in the south-east of the country. It counts about 300,000 inhabitans with a big share of students among them (40,000). In response to its growing population and attached challenges, Graz follows a Smart City Strategy looking ahead until 2050 in order to ensure a high living quality and at the same time reduce emissions, safe energy and resources.
The City of Graz will provide the setting for the Living Lab experiment at Griesplatz, a square in the centre of the city which is going to be redesigned. Therefore the responsible actors apply the city internal guidelines for citizen involvement in an elaborated participation process.
